Caribou is a city located in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 8,189. It is the northeasternmost city in the United States with a population greater than 5,000. The city is home to one of the largest St. John Valley employers, Cary Medical Center. Caribou is also known as the “Most Northeastern City in the US” due to its proximity to the Canadian border.
